HiDPI Missing for Native Resolution

Hello! I'm using a Dell ultrawide with native resolution of 3440 x 1440 at 120 Hz.

I'm unable to get HiDPI to appear for native resolution, though it does appear for a lower resolution. Am I missing something, or is there not a way to enable HiDPI for the native resolution?

Hi there - some Macs have a limitation of 3072px HiDPI horizontally (that is 6K video memory resolution). Entry level Apple Silicon Macs and all M4s with specific displays are affected. If you want higher resolution, you can try virtual screen mirroring.

Appreciate the reply - do you know where I can reference those specs/limitations on the M4, and whether that affects the entire lineup?

Would you happen to have an idea about why HDMI seems to offer higher HiDPI options than DisplayPort (seen below)?
However, it does seem that DisplayPort is less laggy than HDMI.
