Hi there - the main issue with a 27" 1440p display is the pixel density. Enabling HiDPI for the native resolution will not provide extra clarity, instead it creates a supersampling effect which will make the image somewhat smoother. Some feel it's in improvement (+ screenshots and zoom will look much better), others (including me personally) don't. If you set a somewhat lower resolution (using flexible scaling) things will look better with HiDPI but of course the GUI will get bigger as well. |

Hi there,
I just got an M4 Mac Mini and have been trying to figure out how to make the text more clear. I’m using 2 27’ 1440p monitors, one of them vertical. For some reason I can’t for the life of me get this to actually have a visual improvement. Text is slightly blurry with the HiDPI option turned off, but when I turn it on, it actually gets worse. I can SEE in System Information that it is indeed doubling both the horizontal and vertical resolution, but why is this not making it clearer and instead making it worse? I’m struggling to understand and I really want my Mac to look better. And if possible I’m trying to achieve this using what the app offers for free, but if I have to I’ll pay.
