Monitor not working after update to 3.5.5

HI,

I downloaded this nice little utility after month ago. I heard about it as a possible problem solver when I was cursing that the Dell U3824DW I've been using started to get identified as an external projector after macOS 15.4 was installed in January. Using this utility I could once again configure the external Dell monitor to be used as a normal external monitor to my MacBook Pro. However today things are black. When I got to work the monitor did not turn and instead is just black if I connect the monitor. I've tried numerous things to get a picture back on the monitor:

1. Restarted the computer => Login screen shown on the external screen but "freezes" when the Finder etc launches and is not visible for the MacBook after that.
2. Rebooted without BetterDisplay loading => same behaviour
3. Downgraded to 3.5.4 => same behaviour
4. Erased folder "BetterDisplay" in "Application Support" => no change
5. Plugged out the monitor and let it rest powerless during lunch => no change
6. Switched USB-C port => no change
7. Connected my computer to a colleague's external monitor => shows up as expected
8. A colleague connected to my external monitor and it works as expected (apart from the original issue with it being identified as a projector and not an external monitor.

The monitor is not shown in either BetterDisplay or the standard Monitors-app but if I turn on the option in BetterDisplay to show "offline" monitors I can see the configuration there. It also reacts and does a one time update if I choose the option "Reinitialise External Monitors" but freezes instantly efter it has started to show this frame.

Any ideas on what is wrong here? Is BetterDisplay the culprit? Feels like this but where is the faulty configuration stored in that case and how do I fix so I get my monitor working again?

If the issue happens without the app running then it might be a configuration issue. I recommend resetting the display configuration using the app and see if this fixes the issue.
