Does webview work?

I tried python and deno binding and the showwebview function just returns without doing anything, I used the nightly version of webui

Is it on Linux? I haven't gotten it to work on Linux. At first I thought maybe an was an issue with the move over to Wayland and maybe something hinky was going on there, but it does it on X11 as well. Tried on Mint and Arch, just in case it was also an issue with "freshness" of the webview as well.

WebUI right now support only GTK v3.0 APIs and WebKit 4.0/4.1 APIs, both needs to be available to be able to use WebView.

You can use the debug version of webui to see if it finds those libraries:

_webui_load_gtk_and_webkit() -> GTK loaded [xxx]
_webui_load_gtk_and_webkit() -> WebKit loaded [xxx]

In that case, can you use the debug version of webui to see why it fails?

Would something about using zig with a musl target be playing a part? Just trying to think about the variables. I also think I do just webui_show(), I wonder if I force webui_show_wv().

Debug logs may point out directly the issue. We should start with it.

It seems to be disabled on purpose

removing that line , make the webview open indeed, but it freezes I haven't investigated this yet, but maybe that's why its disabled

Ah, yeah, that's true, you need to use the static version of webui to be able to use webview. I don't know why but seems dynamic webui lib can't load webview runtime libs.

You can compile your project like this:

gcc -Os my_application.c -I"_PATH_TO_WEBUI_INCLUDE_" -L"_PATH_TO_WEBUI_LIB_" -lwebui-2-static -lpthread -lm -ldl -o my_application

The dynamic version does load webruntime in my testing, the window shows up but then there is a segfault that I still didn't investigate
