Unable To Grant Permissions On Android

On the latest version Am unable to grant the app the necessary permissions for it to functions.

Device :
Samsung Galaxy a12 nacho (Android 13)
Engine:
V4.0 Build 526

Yes but I can't install that version on my new phone

Either because the apk isn't armv8a or because the snapdragon 8 gen 3 only supports 64bit apps so I can only install Build 526

I am also having issues, there is no permission requested. I went into the app and it was also greyed out.

I am using snapdragon elite 2 and Android 15. This is using arm v8 only so it's 64bit code only. The vendor has their own translator to support 32 bit codes.

ISSUE about Realease 526
I can report the same issue mentioned here by other users.
Works fine with mediatek 1100 on Retroid Pocket 4 Pro, but with snapdragon 865 on Retroid Pocket 5 it crashes.
This is the message when it crashes: "Needed permissions not granted!"
But it in the android setting menu, there's no permission to grant for OpenBOR.
I see his a known issue and I can confirm that is issue is still a thing on my retroid Pocket 5 with SD 865 and relaease 526

Oh yes. I'm trying with release 480. It seems to work with SD 865.
It seems a little bit curios that release 526 works on a pretty old mediatek, but not on a snapdragon Soc.
But I'm willing to contribute to the testing, so I reported this issue and I will also try both 480 and 526 release on my new Odin 2 (snapdragon 8 gen 2) and report what happens.
At the moment, I can say that release 526 works on Retroid Pocket 4 Pro (mediatek 1100) but not on Retroid Pocket 5 (SD 865).
Waiting for the courier to update this this thread when my Odin 2 arrives

Damn that's strange, does it not ask for the storage permission on the rp4 pro?

release 480 on sd 865 (RP5) simply installed in Openbor, not in Android/data or something like that. And it works. 526 does the same thing on the RP5, but doesn't work.
While 526 on mediatek 1100 (retroid 4 pro) has a different behaviour and just installed itself in Android/media/org.openbor.engine (I did nothing to change the path).
And this way it works..
I really don't know what to say.. so I'm curious to see what happens with Odin 2 and SD 8 gen 2 and where it's going to install this time...

I didn't mentioned the android version, because it's not a variable... And that's funny.. three different handhelds, different Soc and so on... but all 3 of them are mounting the same android 13....
The only difference is that RP4 Pro has mediatek and that Odin 2 is not yet tested with release 526 :-)

This issue occurs because of android. Google changed the way permissions are requested and granted.

If you are rooted you can fix by using shizuku and install with options, shizuku does have a none root edition, but I don't know if it works. I can confirm it is working now with root and the addon.

However the dev can fix it by granting the correct request.

Using Oppo Reno 13 pro , Android 15. somehow found latest version but permissions issue still persists. any help?
