is there some New version Update 2025 in your plans?

I'm finally finishing the kitchen project in my house this month (I did electrical work, plumbing, putting together IKEA cabinets, installing butcher block countertops, routing sink to fit, etc) - this was the biggest project of 2024 (hence haven't found time for VHA).

2025 I have two priorities:

• writing a science fiction novel (have over a year of notes, ideas, etc compiled already), and
• remodeling my bathroom / utility room / laundry / pantry into a better layout (ripping out floors, walls, ceiling, building everything new myself)

I will likely find time to update VHA with some minor bugfixes and minor features and release it, but I suspect I will not have time to add any major new features. The optional facial recognition feature I've already started several years ago is still in the "pipeline" and I intend to release it when I get to it (this / next year I hope).

That’s awesome — sounds like a really rewarding project!
I recently went through something similar when working on my own home remodel.

Also, your plan for the sci-fi novel sounds great! Balancing creative and hands-on projects is never easy, but it’s worth it.

Will 2026 get an update?
I still haven't been able to find a decent substitute for this app.
I love Video Hub but also have hopes for some feature additions to make it even better. Just syncing tags between Finder and Video Hub would be a huge improvement (in my case ;) )

I'm hoping to get it out in early 2026. Would be poetic, so I'm aiming for February 20th, the 8th anniversary of the app 🥳
