Warper parameter values in the Map template in Commons

There should be only one warper property in the Map template
There are 3 states

• map in commons but not in warper
• map in commons and in warper but not rectified
• map in commons and in warper and rectified.

The use cases are:
1. The image does not use map template --> apply one through gadget

2. The image has a map template

• 'warper status' has no value
• A link: "Enable georeferencing" > change to button

3. Image has a map template, but the map is not in the warper

• 'warper status' value 'help' (or anything other than 'unwarped' or 'warped')
• Button text: "Help to georefrence this map"

4. Image has a map template, but the map is not rectified in the warper

• 'warper status' value 'unwarped'
• Button text: "Help to georefrence this map"

5. There is a map template, and the map is rectified in the warper

• 'warper status' value 'warped'
• Button text: "View this map in the Wikimaps Warper"

Is four states needed? Could "The image has a map template"/"Image has a map template, but the map is not in the warper" be combined?

It would be a lot easier to explain it then.

While I was drafting, André had modified the template like this:

OK. I put together a small modification at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Andr%C3%A9_Costa_%28WMSE%29/maptest with a demo on https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Andr%C3%A9_Costa_%28WMSE%29/maptest

Essentially it gets rid of the two old warp parameters and replace them with warp status which takes one of the following values
A warper: if in the warper - triggers the "help to rectify button"
B help: if not yet in the warper - triggers the "help to rectify button" (which starts by uploading it)
C rectified: if in the warper and rectified - triggers the "view button"
D skip: if the map is not suitable for warping - shows nothing
E blank - shows nothing

Also any random other value defaults to blank

Would that work? Mass replacing shouldn't be to hard

It should not be hard at all, as long as we can get a list of all pages with a specific template with pywikibot(ping @lokal-profil ).

The question between options 2 and 3 are what do we want to make a default. André has spoken in the favour of defaulting to blank. I would like to be able to go to georeferencing by default, if the Map template has been chosen. I proposed an intermediate solution, option 2: When there is no data, you would see a barely visible link to enable georeferencing.

This applies also to random values. Do they result in blank or the button, or perhaps the barely visible link.

There should be some way to always trigger georeferencing, but I'm not sure if it should default to bland or warper. When someone decides I could make sure the old templates get updated.
