Suppression of certain exceptions

I have the following question:

My Spring Boot app logs what I need to log (including errors I need to see in the logs), but also some annoying exceptions which I actually don't need to see in my logs.

How I can create a filter about which exceptions to log and which to skip?

That is not really possible easily. But you can create a subclass of LoggingService where you copy over the code of the actual LoggingService from the library, adjust it to your liking and declare a bean in your application. That bean will be used instead of the one of the library.

Something like this:

public class MyFilteringLoggingService extends LoggingService {
  public MyFilteringLoggingService(ErrorHandlingProperties properties) {
    super(properties);
  }

  public void logException(ApiErrorResponse errorResponse, Throwable exception) {
    if( shouldBeLogged(exception)) {
      super.logException(errorResponse, exception);
   }
  }

  private boolean shouldBeLogged(Throwable exception) {
    // Add your logic here
  }
}
