I already coded these changes.. It is far better in my opinion and easy to fit what your scanning. You just need to merge my changes.

Comparing your master branch I can't see any changes to the surface scanner code:

There are some changes to the probe and leveler to stop crushing the probe if Z zero is below the top of the touch off plate.

The entire fork and ALL my work is there. I added add a module to work with my wireless controller I build. ugs-platform-plugin-serialControl.
