Description
I'll say it up front, I don't really use Preview in TextMate. For it to be any value to me, I'd have to really customize it to match the way I have my own website designed, and that would be overkill, nor would it be useful for anyone else. I use tWriter for marking up prose as I know it will render when published in Textpattern CMS; and I keep a local dev site for that so I can copy material directly into the website and see exactly how it will look in production, style sheets and all.
That said, I had hoped to get Preview looking and working as the preview does in iA Writer; after all, iA Writer is the model by which tWriter is is designed, and the Quattro font is for preview use. So, we'll see where it goes.
But preview is probably broken to hell as it stands, and I likely broke it while foundering and hacking my way through the grammar. I don't even know how preview works, to be honest; whether it reads the grammar or reads the redcloth at /Support/lib/. I figured I'd try to cross that bridge when I get there. That may mean I have to redo the grammar, because I probably did it wrong to begin with, but again, I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
What matters most to me right now is that when I use a theme to write, it greys out what I don't need in my face and lets me focus on the words. After that, I copy/paste the article in the CMS, and preview it and do final pass markup editing there. Preview in TextMate is just a low priority cherry on the cake for the sake of thoroughness, nothing more.
Expert advice for facilitating the correct advancement of Preview is welcome.
