excludeMiddleware example

I don't know if this is the best place for this, but I haven't been able to find good docs on how to integrate the middleware into express when excludeMiddleware option is true. I can see the generated middleware, but the first argument to the middleware is not a plain 1:1 with an express request object. Is there any docs explaining how to generate this argument from an express request?
