OpenVPN support with GPL license change from 2 to 3

We noticed that that wolfSSL is now license under GPL 3 or later.

Since OpenVPN 2.x is licensed as GPL 2 only, wolfSSL is no longer compatible with OpenVPN from a license perspective as GPL2 and GPL3 are incompatible.

Should we in the OpenVPN project deprecate and later remove wolfSSL support or is there solution like having some excemption clause for GPL2 projects?

This is basically very easy - if you insist on GPL3 only, with no exception for GPLv2 projects, we will have to drop WolfSSL support from OpenVPN.

I'm not sure why we should invest more time and effort now to chase you folks (like "send an e-mail"). It has been brought to your attention, you need to sort this out.

OpenVPN 2.7.0 release is in approximately 4 weeks time, so it should be clear until then on whether we need to drop WolfSSL support from our codebase.
