"Recent activity" Card Not Displaying on Home Screen

A user has reported that enabling the "Recent activity" card under "Personalize Home Screen" (screenshot) does not show the card on the home screen of their iOS device. I’ve been able to reproduce this issue on both iOS and Android.

On Android, the card appears under a different name: "Activity Log" (screenshot)

Steps to Reproduce:

• Go to My Site » Personalize Home Screen.
• Enable the "Recent activity" (iOS) / "Activity Log" (Android) card.
• Navigate to the home screen.

Expected Result: The "Recent activity" (or "Activity Log") card should be visible on the home screen.

Actual Result: The card does not appear on the home screen.

The root cause lies in the API, as mentioned in the issue above. But the app can also be improved. The app should display the "Recent Activity" card, regardless of whether the dashboard card API response contains any activity or not. The app can show a "No recent activity" message if no activity is returned.
