Beta Hardware

It seems everybody here has an Alpha device, but there has been multiple updates for a Beta device, which dropped Weidmuller power, added a configuration button, etc. Seemingly there is no documentation or pictures of this new device, but it certainly is in testing. I was wondering what the plan was for rolling that out, and what stage it may be in. Is the plan that it will ship out for the FTC / Beta round of testing?

There is a render of the beta version of the device on the December blog post here, but that's all I've seen. Our team would be interested in receiving the beta version for further FRC testing this off-season, if that is an option.

The Beta device will be distributed to teams for the FTC Alpha shortly. The blog post linked by Kevin above is the best current reference for the differences, the Specifications document should be updated soon to reflect the Beta device.

We are still figuring out what if any FRC testing of the Beta device we may be able to support this summer.

We (Girls of Steel) received the alpha for FRC. We're happy to test the beta with both FTC and re-test with FRC as we have off-seasons of both this summer.
