Activate stage manager in "Desktop & Dock" system settings
open kap, see the dark-tint over the screen and the floating bar with the red recording button.
Note that the dark-tint does not seem to extend quite all the way to the top of the screen.
select an area for recording and record
Result: the recorded video's crop contains the top dotted line of kap's recording area indicator
Current behavior
Kapture.2026-02-05.at.10.30.14.mp4
In this video we can note two things:
stage manager is on and the video contains the top dotted line
when I toggle stage manager, the position of the dotted line shifts down in the video's frame, visually (through motion) indicating stage manager has an effect the offset of the crop
Expected behavior
kap recordings should not contain the dotted lines of the recording area indicator
Workaround
Turn off stage manager before starting a kap recording. If I do this then the dark-tinted area extends all the way to the top of my screen, and the recordings do not contain the dotted line.
macOS version: 26.2
Kap version: 3.6.0
