Whenever I am clicking the import APO button to import the eq file it crashes the whole app.

Whenever I am clicking the import APO button to import the eq file it crashes the whole app.

Hum... I could not reproduce this. Kill easyeffects and restart it in debug mode easyeffects --debug so we can see if there is any information that could explain the crash.

I may also help to run sudo coredumpctl info right after the crash. Depending on how NixOS is building its packages there may be debug info there.

I can confirm that I have xdg-desktop-portal-gtk and xdg-desktop-portal-gnome installed. Maybe this is the packaging issue on the nixpkgs part?

It seems to be the case. The native gtk file chooser Qt is trying to use in your system is missing a Gsettings key. Maybe your package manager did not execute glib-compile-schemas with the proper path after a system update.
