Describe the bug
I tried manually converting some images to AVIF: JPG and WEBP book covers and a JPG photo with lots of details. In every case the file got converted to AVIF (I have the "revert to original if larger" option ticked), but the file size is the exact same bytes as the input size. I find this extremely implausible to happen, unless there's some bug in the process. The images still display after the conversion as normal.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Pick a fairly detailed, slightly compressed JPG, like this one
- Right click, Convert/compress, to AVIF with the settings on the screenshot below
- See that the file is now AVIF, but the file size is the exact same to the bytes, as the original
