fix: address an issue where plot interactivity is not initiated via onClock event

Description

Steps to Reproduce

1. OPen https://xabilitylab.ischool.illinois.edu/maidr/galleries/bar_plot.html
2. Mouse left-click on the plot
3. See if that's activated

Actual Behavior

The plot is not activated (as long as I tested with screen reader JAWS)

Expected Behavior

The plot needs to respond to the onClick event.
