Gray bar appears when using the shortcut "Open find prompt for Preview only"

Issue to reproduce

1. Open Geany.
2. Press the shortcut Open find prompt for Preview only.
3. Press the Esc-key.

Result
A gray bar is visible, there where the window was (see image_1).

Expectation
There should be no gray bar.

Remarks
If the gray bar is not visible, then do again step 2 and then step 3 from "Issue to reproduce".
The gray bar appears in all theme mode.
To let disappear the gray bar:

• If the cursor is within the editor, one have to move the mouse inside the sidebar.
• If the cursor is within the sidebar, one have to click somewhere inside the sidebar. An other possibility is to move the mouse outside the sidebar, and then again inside the sidebar.

If after step 2 I move the "Find in page"-window around, then there is a gray background everywhere where the window was moved (see image_2).
Sometimes I saw, for a part of a second, a second "Find in Page"-window at the right bottom corner – my sidebar is on the right side.
If I connect an e-ink display to the computer, then there is no gray bar.

I just tested many times the shortcut "Open find prompt for Editor or Preview". I could not reproduce the issue with the shortcut "Open find prompt for Editor or Preview".
That means that there is only an issue with the shortcut "Open find prompt for Preview only".

By the way, I think that also with the shortcut "Open find prompt for Editor or Preview" there is also an issue, but an other issue:

If I click in the sidebar, and then if I press the shortcut "Open find prompt for Editor or Preview", and then on Esc, then editor is in focus. I think that it would be better, if sidebar is in focus because before pressing the shortcut "Open find prompt for Editor or Preview", the sidebar had focus.

I just tested many times the shortcut "Open find prompt for Editor or Preview". I could not reproduce the issue with the shortcut "Open find prompt for Editor or Preview".

That was about the gray bar. But when moving the "Find in Page"-window, then I can reproduce the issue (see image_2). So, the issue number 78 concerns also the shortcut "Open find prompt for Editor or Preview", but only when moving the window.

I'm not able to reproduce this problem. I tried with both light and dark themes. I am using KDE Plasma, Wayland.

I tested only the shortcut "Open find prompt for Preview only". Both shortcuts open the exact same dialog for Preview, so which one used doesn't matter.

Guesses where the problem could be:

• Window system, Wayland vs X11.
• Window manager.
• Video driver or setting, like software rendering set via environment variable.
• Custom CSS or javascript.
• Potential bug in WebKit or GTK versions on Ubuntu.

I use Lubuntu 25.10 which uses X11 by default. Maybe this is the problem. It is planed that Lubuntu 26.04 will switch to Wayland. Then I can test this issue again.

Turn off the focus_editor_on_raise option. The find dialog appears above Geany, in focus. When it is dismissed, Geany returns to foreground with focus. The option detects the raise and moves focus to the editor, doing exactly what it is supposed to. The option is intended for editor-centric workflows.

So, I would like to make a summary:

focus_editor_on_raise = true:
If one click in the content area of the sidebar, and then, if one press the shortcut Open find prompt for Editor or Preview, and then on Esc, then the content area of the editor has focus.

focus_editor_on_raise = false:
If one click in the content area of the sidebar, and then if one press the shortcut Open find prompt for Editor or Preview, and then on Esc, then the content area of the sidebar has focus.

For my needs, I prefer focus_editor_on_raise = false because I want that after having pressed the shortcut, the focus is there, where it was before pressing the shortcut, else I lose orientation of the focus.

False (off) is the default setting.

Today I recognized that there is the same issue with the "Configure Plugins"-window when the window is over the Preview-tab.
