Describe the bug

Dear @xmtp team,

I think you know, it is possible to change all by XMPP, the standard protocol?

There is already XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol, formerly Jabber) since 1998 (original creator is @quartzjer) used by billion users/companies in the World.

It is an IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) standard since 2004 and it in always in developement.

It is managed by XMPP Standards Foundation (XSF) and there are more than 500 XEPs (extensions):

You can use/install an XMPP Client, and create an XMPP Account and join the XSF MUC Room:

And in more, there is an article here: Open Letter to Meta: Support True Messaging Interoperability with XMPP:

More informations:

Thanks in advance.
