Getting this to work with a new version of Node.js

Hi there - is there an updated version of this library that works with the latest Node.js?
When I use an older version of Node errors regarding 'baudrate' vs 'baudRate' come up? As well as DeprecationWarning: Buffer() is deprecated due to security and usability issues. Please use the Buffer.alloc(), Buffer.allocUnsafe(), or Buffer.from() methods instead.

I'm a bit late to this thread but I'll answer in case anyone else runs into this problem:

1) the baudrate vs baudRate problem

You probably got an error that looks like this:

TypeError: "baudrate" is an unknown option, did you mean "baudRate"?

From what I can tell, "baudrate" (all lowercase) is a typo in the README file, You should use the .baudRate property instead. PR #35 addresses this.

2) The deprecation warning about Buffer()

For various security reasons, using the Buffer() constructor directly has been deprecated since Node v6. It's unknown when or if support for it will be removed. You can safely ignore it because 1) it is only a warning and 2) the only place this library uses Buffer's constructor, is with a constant value, meaning security isn't a problem.
