DeFi Risk Sentinel Swarm

Stop the Hack Before It Happens

"This demo simulates stopping a reentrancy attack in 45ms. Watch it in real-time."

🎬 Demo Video

DeFi Sentinel Demo

Script (60 seconds):

[0:00] "Watching for DeFi attacks in real-time."
[0:10] [Screen shows: Mempool scanner running at 100 TPS]
[0:20] [Alert: "Reentrancy pattern detected - $2.3M at risk"]
[0:30] [CMVK verifies: 3/3 models confirm attack]
[0:40] [Agent OS: SIGKILL → Guardian agent pauses contract]
[0:50] "$2.3M saved. 45ms response. Zero human intervention."

🚀 Quick Start (One Command)

cd examples/defi-sentinel
cp .env.example .env # Optional: Add API keys for real mempool
docker-compose up

# Wait 30 seconds, then open:
# → http://localhost:8081 (Demo UI)
# → http://localhost:3001 (Grafana Dashboard - admin/admin)
# → http://localhost:16687 (Jaeger Traces)

No API keys? Demo runs with simulated transactions.

Overview

$3.8B stolen in DeFi hacks in 2024. Current monitoring is reactive - by the time alerts fire, money is gone. This demo shows proactive, millisecond-response defense.

                    ✅ ATTACK BLOCKED

Agent Types

1. Sentry Agent

  • Monitors mempool (pending transactions)
  • Filters for suspicious patterns:
    • Flash loan initiation
    • Unusual token approvals
    • Large transfers
    • Reentrancy patterns

2. Sim Agent

  • Forks blockchain state locally
  • Simulates transaction execution
  • Predicts outcome (vault drain, price manipulation, etc.)
  • Completes in <200ms

3. Guardian Agent (MUTE AGENT)

  • Only acts when sim predicts attack
  • Signs emergency PAUSE transaction
  • Has SIGKILL permission (can force-stop protocol)
  • Returns NULL if simulation shows legitimate tx

Key Features

Mute Agent Pattern

  • No verbose logs during normal operation
  • Only outputs: NULL (allow) or ACTION (block)
  • Sub-second response critical

eBPF Monitoring (Prototype)

  • Monitors network calls at kernel level
  • Even if Python agent compromised, eBPF layer detects exfiltration
  • Defense-in-depth approach

Kernel/User Space Separation

  • If sim-agent crashes (OOM, timeout), guardian still works
  • Kernel survives user-space failures

Attack Vectors Detected

Attack Type Detection Method Response Time
Reentrancy Call pattern analysis <300ms
Flash Loan Loan initiation + drain <400ms
Oracle Manipulation Price deviation <350ms
Governance Attack Unusual voting pattern <500ms

Quick Start

# Run the demo
docker-compose up

# Or run locally
pip install -e .
python demo.py

# Run specific attack simulation
python demo.py --attack reentrancy

# Run all attack vectors
python demo.py --attack all

Demo Scenarios

Scenario 1: Reentrancy Attack

Classic reentrancy where attacker drains funds during callback.

Scenario 2: Flash Loan Attack

Attacker borrows $100M, manipulates price, profits $10M.

Scenario 3: Oracle Manipulation

Attacker feeds bad price data to liquidate positions.
