Dear Yggdrasil Development Team,

My name is Shimon Shapira, and I’m the founder of a project called United Hearts — a developing decentralized social platform and operating system designed to support a growing network of intentional communities, regenerative villages, and self-organized societies across the world.

I’m reaching out because I recently discovered your work on the Yggdrasil Network while researching technologies that could support the foundational layer of our platform. In our internal architecture, we had already named our global identity mesh the World Tree — inspired by the Norse concept of Yggdrasil — as a symbolic and structural metaphor for the living network of interconnected human beings and communities. Upon searching the term online, I was surprised and deeply inspired to find your project, which aligns almost perfectly with both the spirit and the technical needs of what we are building.

About United Hearts
United Hearts is a global, self-sovereign network designed to empower individuals and communities through a decentralized social structure. Our platform integrates a range of technologies to support:

Cryptographically unique user identities (NFT-based profiles tied to real-world relationships)

A branching structure of trust-based social groups (tribes, initiatives, community circles)

A mesh-based communication network for offline and low-connectivity environments

Tools for voting, proposal systems, and decentralized governance

A token and contribution economy that rewards service, knowledge-sharing, and support

Our core architecture is based on the idea that every profile is a node — not just in the abstract social sense, but in the technical sense. Each user represents a cryptographically defined endpoint capable of routing, storing, and relaying data within a distributed network.

Why Yggdrasil is a Natural Fit
The core features of Yggdrasil align remarkably well with our requirements for the underlying communication and identity transport layer of United Hearts. Specifically, we are interested in the following attributes:

Compact, self-organizing routing that does not require centralized authority

Location-independent cryptographic identity per node

Automatic peering and traffic routing across heterogeneous networks

Resilience to topology changes and seamless recovery from connection failures

Support for local, low-latency, peer-to-peer communications without reliance on ISPs

Experimental flexibility for integrating into higher-layer social and governance protocols

In our architecture, each profile (NFT-registered) would correspond to a Yggdrasil node. Communities or local collectives function as subnets or clusters. The platform is designed to work even in disconnected scenarios — using direct wireless or local mesh communication — and sync with the global network when Internet access is available. Yggdrasil’s model enables this vision out-of-the-box in a way that no other system currently does.

Proposal for Collaboration or Adaptation
We would like to explore the possibility of one or more of the following directions:

Integrating Yggdrasil directly into our client as the core networking layer for identity-aware peer communication.

Developing a higher-layer protocol on top of Yggdrasil that enables message-passing, voting, content sync, and trust mapping among profile nodes.

Contributing to or customizing parts of Yggdrasil to optimize it for this type of decentralized social infrastructure.

Collaborating on a proof-of-concept that could be used to demonstrate the viability of using Yggdrasil as the routing fabric for real-world social networks.

Our intention is not only to build a tool but to contribute toward a more resilient, human-centric Internet — one rooted in collaboration, sovereignty, and peer trust.

Next Steps
If any of this aligns with your vision or ongoing research goals, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to begin a dialogue. We are currently in the prototyping and architecture phase, and we believe that incorporating Yggdrasil as a foundational component could significantly enhance both the capabilities and integrity of our platform.

Please let us know if this sounds of interest or whether there is a preferred way to initiate a deeper technical discussion. We’re happy to share visual documentation, architecture drafts, or technical specs at your convenience.

Warm regards,
Shimon
