Current Behavior

Scan failed due to ERROR: string indices must be integers

Giving this error and scan never starts.

Expected Behavior

Scan starts.

Steps To Reproduce

1)install via instructions found on github.
2)launch webui enter target.
3)start scan.

Environment

- reNgine: 2.2.0
- OS: Fedora 43
- Python: 3.10
- Docker Engine: Docker version 29.1.2, build 890dcca
- Docker Compose: Docker version 29.1.2, build 890dcca
- Browser: Chrome

Anything else?

- OS: Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS
- Python: 3.12.3
- Docker Engine: Docker version 29.1.3, build f52814d
- Browser: Firefox on Linux (Mint)

• Create a new target.
• Enter only the root domain, i.e., "somedomain.com" instead of "www.somedomain.com"
• Click Initiate Scan and wait...

**Edit: This might be a case of RTFM, and there could be an adjustment to the error message? After I modified Settings > Tool Settings and added additional configuration information to theHarvester and SubFinder, the error has not reappeared.

Hi,
I've found the root cause that httpx is too new to compatible with reNgine.
Just downgrade to the older version like httpx 1.2.5 and rebuild all docker image, then everything is working well.

1. Modify httpx in ./web/Dockerfile
   From github.com/projectdiscovery/httpx/cmd/httpx@latest
   To github.com/projectdiscovery/httpx/cmd/httpx@v1.2.5

2. Rebuild whole docker images and start

3. Enjoy it!
