Disable Extension

Add a toggle to the popup html that allows the end user to turn off the extension. The your rapport icon will show the text "off" while it is off. The off will stop communications with other extensions that use Your Rapport for collecting data.

Best option for now is to go to chrome://extensions/ and manually disable the extension. Data is not deleted when you disable the extension.
