Also, can you please tell me how can I remove files from the trash can, you specified, that by the default the files will be placed there, but you didn't mention how to delete them

Press h or backspace will return to the parent directory. (from tutorial)
You can also override this in your configuration, see Custom hotkeys.

Currently there is no such functionality. You must use your operating system's functions to empty the Recycle Bin.

Hello, I am using Superfile on WSL Debian.

I am very new to this and want to know if there is a way to run a code . in the current directory.

I tried just pressing : and running code . but that opens VS Code in the directory I started SPF in.

That is not the same as being able to run a command in the current directory.

Am I right to assume then that there currently isn't a way to run a command in the current directory ?

It has actually been tried in #127, and it should be possible in the latest version (there are bugs that have not yet been resolved). You can press : to execute

@yorukot in the first post @Zhilong-coding said about it. The problem is that the command is executed in the terminal directory, not in the one where the user is in the interface.

Maybe it is worth doing cd of a directory before running a command that has been entered by the user: /bin/sh -c "cd {directory} && {command}". I'm not sure how good an idea this is.

The main reason why I haven't completed this function yet is because of this problem, and I can't find a good way to solve it.
Your suggestion sounds good I will give it a try!

When i've my cursor on a file and I press Enter or right arrow, it opens the file in my web browser instead of my editor that is set in EDITOR. I tried to unset the BROWSER variable. but it does not help. Is this inteded behaviour? If so, is there a way to change this?

And what shell and what terminal emulator are you using ?

So i edit the config file to change the default edior to vim, but actually it is not work. It is still use nano. How to make the config file work ?

Also, are you using the latest superfile ? A new update was applied, but the latest release wasn't recently updated from the main branch. Please build from main branch to get the latest update.

I think that the website has been updated too early. We made feature updates in code, but didn't release a new version yet.

But after some recents changes, it will be file_editor = vim

Thank you very much, that's the problem. The latest release version is indeed configured using editor = vim, and I modified it like this and it took effect. The problem has been resolved.

ctrl-a and ctrl-e are very convenient for compression and decompression, but is it possible to specify the compression and decompression tool? For example, use atool for supporting more formats.

I think that is a too niche feature. We could have it, but it wont be soon.

For now you can utilize the command line

Just press : (shift + ; ) and enter the command you want to run. It will run in the current directory. You can use atool that way.

Thanks for the reply. It can be fixed via command: press ctrl + p, then :, type aunpack , followed by ctrl + v.

can you tell me, how superfile decides which directories are in the side bar (between "superfile" and "pinned")? I can not seem to find it in the config file. On my arch system there are only two directories (home and videos) there but I would like to add more, instead of pinning them.

Unfortunately I've an issue. I've read that ist is not possible to preview pdf files.
I cannot believe this, because I've seen this in ranger with alacritty.
So please, if it is possible to preview pdf files, can you give me a tutorial to do that?
