I tried several times with two different ESP-32 but never found any Tesla-car entry in the logs. The listener was activated, compile and upload was fine, entities in HA all there, good wifi and BLE connection.
I then tried the Android app "BLE Scanner" which found the Tesla and displayed the MAC of my Model 3. After entering this MAC in secrets.yaml I could register the ESP in the car as new key right away. Works now like it should.
Maybe that helps when having listener problems. Would also be a faster way finding the MAC.
