unable to parse poll-read boiler error_slot_9

Hello,
I use ebusd with the mira_c_green.csv configuration file and it's working fine overall.
However when I look at the logs I have a recurring error that annoys me :)
Approximatively every 10 minutes I see something like this:
2026-04-13 08:32:32.202 [update error] unable to parse poll-read boiler error_slot_9 from 313c2002020400 / 0b1200ff347f0f1f1f3f0100: ERR: argument value out of valid range
Is it related to a configuration file problem or is it upstream ? I also have some bus errors like:

2026-04-13 08:25:08.013 [bus error] prepare poll message: ERR: end of input reached
2026-04-13 08:31:32.009 [bus error] prepare poll message: ERR: end of input reached

I tried to analyse using this definition:

But I must admit that I don't go anywhere so I ask here :)

Hi, according to your packet content 0b1200ff347f0f1f1f3f0100, I can dissect it like this:

0b 12 00 ff34 7f 0f 1f 1f3f 0100
^packet length
   ^error_code: 0x12=18=>code 108 (from _templates.csv)
      ^7bits: zone 0
         ^IGN
              ^year: 127
                 ^month: 15
                    ^day: 31
                        ^time 31:63

7f 0f 1f 1f3f 0100 is the default format when the datetime is not set on the boiler. I think that ERR: argument value out of valid range is just the ebusd service that is trying to parse these data.

To fix this, 1) set a datetime 2) reset the history of errors (Service menu 861).

BUT now you will have an empty history, so the polling command will report an empty packet: [update error] unable to parse poll-read boiler error_slot_9 from 313c2002020400 / 00: ERR: invalid position.

Maybe we could just remove the polling for this line ? Note that this command is never broadcasted by the boiler, you have to ask for it. BTW when errors occur a 2004 broadcast is made by the boiler. Thus, it will keep you informed.

PS:

• bus errors are not related
• you can interrogate your error slots with ebusctl hex 3c 2002 02 0400 (slot 9), ebusctl hex 3c 2002 02 0401 (slot 8), etc.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply. For some reason the TIME menu is not available on my boiler, even if it's documented. The doc states that the TIME menu is not available when EXPERT CONTROL is connected so I unplugged my esp-ebus module but without success. As a side note MENU 020 (network presence) is not available as well.
Is there any way to set the time via ebus command line ?

The TIME menu is after the MENU menu, after some other menus like GAS, PCB, etc. Not after 0,1...8 sub menus. It's counterintuitive, but not related to an esp-ebus (since we do not mimic real Chaffoteaux devices). I do not know the the command to change the date, but It must exist for sure...

You are right about the expected position of the TIME menu, but it's not even there ! I will ask the maintenance guy next time he comes for the annual check.

Ok, maybe by rebooting the whole installation from the circuit breaker... without any device attached the menu 020 should be at 0. I bet the maintenance guy won't know anything about it; I don't even know if they're aware there's a maintenance/debugging menu on the machine... You'll have to figure this one out on your own :p
