Negative letter-spacing ? why ?

The Grid builder has an Edit Defaults button that shows a modal window with two buttons :

Your method using negative letter-spacing seems to be in cause.

I would like to add to this that this happens for me on both IE9 and FF21, but not Chrome. Also, the top navigation bar seems to be having problems in Firefox. I'm on a Windows 7 machine btw.
