Command line flag for opening with a particular workspace #11640

There isn't currently a command line flag in Zen Browser to launch directly into a specific workspace—this feature has been requested and is considered feasible, but it's not implemented yet. The profile flag (-P) works for user data separation, but workspaces (which group tabs/windows within a profile) can't be targeted at launch via CLI right now. Some users try workarounds like using window class flags (if available) or external tools such as Browser Tamer to manage containers and profiles, but these don't provide true workspace targeting either. There's clear demand for this, so it's possible it could be added in the future, but for now, no direct solution exists. You can see more about the discussion and user interest here and here. Just to mention there is also a stale FF feature request for opening in containers that is related: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1726634 IMHO an option for both (containers and workspaces) would be highly appreciated. Adding such would allow much better integration into workflows. I am e.g. using BrowserTamer on Windows to control what opens where. |

I like to use 2 self containing sessions when I'm browsing. I am also a tab hoarder, so both my sessions end up taking a lot of memory especially after reddit decided to bloat their UI massively, and additionally I'm not sure why this is so but both of the profiles seem to grow substantially after the initial startup even if all my tabs stay unloaded.
So anyways I realized it would not be this severe if I used different workspaces with setting default containers for them relatively cheaply. The only problem being: there's no way to launch a zen window with a specified workspace.
Currently I'm using the profiles flag that zen has (due to firefox already having it there), which I have set hyprland to use. However there's no such option to do this for workspaces.
