Preliminary Checks

  • I have read and understood the important section above.
  • I have searched existing issues and avoided creating duplicates.
  • I am not filing an enhancement request.
  • I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.
  • I have checked that this issue can be reproduced once I removed all my Mods and Custom CSS.

What happened?

When Web site appearance (under Settings -> General -> Language and Appearance) is set to Automatic, the color scheme should default to the system setting, but it's always Dark Mode instead.

Note: should the setting's purpose not be to sync with the system theme but rather to switch to Light Mode during daytime hours, the attached screenshots were taken at about 10:00 AM local time.

Expected behavior

Sync the color scheme with the system's.

Actual behavior

Color scheme is always Dark Mode.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Set System Settings -> Appearance -> Appearance to either Light or Auto
  2. Set Zen Settings -> General -> Language and Appearance -> Web site appearance to Automatic
  3. Check that Zen uses Dark Mode even when it should use Light Mode

Screenshots and videos

Note: should the setting's purpose not be to sync with the system theme but rather to switch to Light Mode during daytime hours, the attached screenshots were taken at about 10:00 AM local time.
