What happened?

YouTube Shorts reset to first viewed short when moving browser window

Expected behavior

The current short position should stay unchanged when moving the browser window.

Actual behavior

The Shorts feed resets to the first short that was initially opened.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open YouTube Shorts
  2. Scroll through several shorts
  3. Move the Zen Browser window
  4. The feed jumps back to the first viewed short

Screenshots and videos

Additional observations:

  • The URL updates correctly while scrolling through Shorts
  • If the updated/current Shorts URL is opened in another tab or window, the correct current Short is displayed
  • Therefore, this does not appear to be a direct URL/state synchronization issue
  • The problem seems related to how Zen handles the Shorts page state during window movement/re-rendering

Additional info:

  • Does NOT happen in Firefox
  • Does NOT happen in Chrome
  • Happens only in Zen Browser
  • Normal YouTube videos/playlists are unaffected
