Tabs become unresponsive after closing a tab opened via an external app

• I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.
• I have checked that this issue can be reproduced once I removed all my Mods and Custom CSS.

What happened?

If I have some non-essential tabs open, quit zen, open a link in an external app and close it, all tabs become unresponsive and sometimes get closed when I restart zen and can't be brought back with shift+cmd+T.

Expected behavior

Tabs open as expected and don't get deleted from shift+cmd+T history.

Actual behavior

Tabs become unresponsive and sometimes randomly close when zen is restarted.

Steps to reproduce

Have some non-essential tabs open, quit zen, open a link through an external app and close it.
