Zen doesn't remember selected tab between sessions

• I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.
• I have checked that this issue can be reproduced once I removed all my Mods and Custom CSS.

What happened?

When I open Zen with my unreasonable amount of tabs, select one of the tabs and then re-open Zen, instead of remembering which tab was selected in the last session it just selects a seemingly random tab from (I think) maybe even a seemingly random workspace, tldr not the one it should've selected. I tested it in Firefox, and it properly remembers which tab I had selected before I re-opened it.

After a lengthy debate (#7485) it turns out not remembering essential or pinned tab location is 'working as designed'.
When your last position is on one, you'll return on the first normal tab instead.
If you exit while on a specific normal tab, that should be remembered though.

Exiting on a normal tab is not remembered for me, it just goes to the first tab still no matter what tab I'm on...

I'm on Zen 1.11.4b also on Linux (AUR package)

Also, this type of issue has come up in the past, it's been fixed in the past... and yet it still seems to keep coming back somehow.

EDIT: Doesn't seem to happen on 1.11.5t (Twilight) though with a clean profile, but stuff like this shouldn't require a fresh profile for a fix / change to work.

it turns out not remembering essential or pinned tab location is 'working as designed'.

The issue is with normal tabs, I rarely even close my browser while focused on Essentials.

Though I would like that issue to not be discarded as "working as designed"

here we go again... they mentioned it as "ZEN Philosophy/Productivity at its best"

(use 1.7 if you are okay with it bcz this bug/philosophy didn't develop back then)
