Thank you so much, I'll try this in a bit.
I know my ssr version doesn't detect css file out of the box, will the same instructions work or is there an upgrade instructions?

It's not related to ssr version. You can use any version of tailwindcss in ssr framework if only you configure correct postcss plugin and import tailwindcss base dependencies.

it worked with new scaffolded app, but I have issues with my existing app, I have to track down the issue and resolve it.

I have checked the code 100 times, brand new scaffold app, but no matter what tailwindcss v4 doesn't work for me, sorry to trouble you, please have a look at sample repo: https://github.com/piouson/ssr-example

This is because ssr framework use rspack default builtin:css to process css file instead of css-loader.
🤔，I will provide a default option with css-loader and postcss-loader when you configure postcss plugins in config.ts

Only need to configure postcss in config.ts, ssr framework will use postcss process css file automatically
