Expose time to logs?

Having it in tray is nice but could we be able to read the current time the timer is at.

I was thinking, the program either writes to its local logs where the user can then maybe just use some filtering to read the time.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Given that there is already a feature where the tray icon is updated with the symbolic representation of the amount of time left, maybe time is also passed to the tray module which can then be read at user end, and maybe adjust the icons to their own preference.

Hi! I’ve continued the app in a fork with a focus on maintenance and further development in a few specific areas.

@de-pdl what sort of interface/protocol do these custom UI functions have? If you link me an example I could take a look at what would be needed to integrate it.

I am using waybar custom moduels, https://github.com/Alexays/Waybar/wiki/Module:-Custom.

For a live countdown, i was thinking it writes JSON lines continuously or fetch the time through a polling feature:

Maybe you are able to expose is the current timer state — either through like a status file (~/.local/share/pomatez/state) or a --status CLI flag. The Waybar script just reads that on each tick.
