We have been on 0.x for a long time.
Also with the frequent updates and setting semVer in the pom, projects now get a lot of sbt warnings about version conflicts

If we can implement it for both Scala 2 and Scala 3 then we can remove a lot of runtime flag checks and boxing/unboxing.

That will improve performance of case class parsing and serialization greatly.
