Email regex unnecessarily strict #920
Description
The email regex in validations is unnecessarily strict in so far as it doesn't allow an email to start with a digit.
How about using the regex from https://colinhacks.com/essays/reasonable-email-regex or a more sophisticated one like the one from https://emailregex.com/?
