misbehavior switching back and forth between different authentications

Describe the bug

I don't expect users to be switching back and forth like we do for testing but do experience misbehavior on the switch back after initial switch which would be a regression as this scenario was tested before on feature. sometimes prompt will not show and other times prompt shows but profile not updated in cache for following requests
