🚀 SnapDOM v1.9.11 Released— Fast. Precise. Unstoppable.

We’re shipping v1.9.11, likely the last v1 release before v2. This version delivers a big jump in speed, capture fidelity, and stability—with a new CSS transforms pipeline, same-origin iframe capture, stronger caching, and multiple fixes for Safari, SVG, and form elements.

Highlights

Performance

• Refactored core and centralized cache → up to 3× faster than v1.9.9.
• Compression enabled by default and tighter hot paths.

Fidelity

• New CSS transforms handling (including scale and rotate) plus auto extra margin when elements are transformed to prevent clipping.
• Same-origin iframes supported (no placeholder needed unless you want it).
• Smarter font usage detection: only the actually used variants are embedded; improved fetch and first-use behavior on Safari.
• SVG: preserve custom values without overwriting with defaults.

Stability

• Fix Safari flicker.
• Fix <textarea> duplication and style inconsistencies.
• Properly restore original translate across chained captures.
• Fix the “cache disabled” bug.
• New placeholders option to disable rendered placeholders for iframes and fallback images.

Benchmarks (Chromium)

• Complex Page (1200×800) → 2.9× faster than v1.9.9, up to 25× faster than html-to-image, and 10× faster than html2canvas.
• Large Scroll Area (2000×1500) → 3.7× faster than v1.9.9.
• Very Large Element (4000×2000) → 2.6× faster than v1.9.9, over 7× faster than html-to-image, and hundreds of times faster than html2canvas.
• In smaller/simple cases, v1.9.10 is consistently 1.5×–1.8× faster than v1.9.9.

Bottom line: extreme speed without sacrificing capture fidelity.

There is a little but annoying bug on Safari that prevent capture elements. Will be fixed soon. Sorry for that

I suggest writing support for iframes in the readme. This is an excellent feature that is not supported in other works.

1.9.11 works perfectly in our app now, and resolves all open issues we had taking screenshots with earlier versions of Snapdom. Congratulations on the release. Fantastic job!
