MedDataRD – Analysis of Deaths and Injuries from Traffic Accidents

📌 Description

This project analyzes historical data on deaths and injuries from traffic accidents in the Dominican Republic over the past few years.

The objective is to identify temporal patterns, monthly and annual trends, and indications of seasonality using exploratory data analysis and statistical visualization.

This repository is part of my MedDataRD – data-driven project.

--

📊 Analysis Objectives

  • Analyze the monthly distribution of deaths and injuries from traffic accidents.

  • Identify recurring patterns across years.

  • Explore year-over-year variations.

  • Lay the groundwork for future predictive models.

--

🧠 Methodology

  • Data cleaning and preparation.

  • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA).

  • Visualization of monthly and year-over-year trends.

    • Evidence-based interpretation.

--

📈 Preliminary Results

Initial analyses show:

  • Consistent monthly variations over the years.

  • Clear signs of seasonality.

  • Months with recurring mortality peaks.

⚠️ Note: This project is under development.

Additional analyses and advanced models are still pending implementation.
