🎯 What: The testing gap addressed
This PR addresses a testing gap in server.py regarding the error handling block of the run_osascript function. Specifically, it tests the scenario where subprocess.run throws an exception to ensure the function properly catches and prints the error message.

📊 Coverage: What scenarios are now tested

  • The happy path where subprocess.run executes without raising an exception is now implicitly covered by other tests but the new test explicitly handles the error case.
  • Edge cases and error conditions where subprocess.run fails, simulating command execution errors.

Result: The improvement in test coverage
The code introduces a unit test file tests/test_server.py using unittest and unittest.mock. It ensures run_osascript correctly handles exceptions and logs them appropriately. In addition to testing the error path, this PR also adds .gitignore entries for __pycache__ and *.pyc files, ensuring compiled binary files aren't committed to version control.
