Release 8.0.0

v8.0.0 is adding submodules to iAPS. The submodules are from LoopKit/… repositories. The old local LibreTransmitter package has been replaced by upstream LoopKit/LibreTransmitter repository as a submodule. The new MedtrumKit submodule is forked from @bastiaanv’s MedtrumKit repository. All of the old local dependencies are replaced by the newer remote dependencies.

Among some of the new features are new pump (Medtrum Nano Touch 200/300 U), backfill of dexcom sensors, support for new European L2+ sensors and upstream bug fixes.

Refactoring of iAPS to work with the new submodules done by @yurique 🙏.

Apart from the updated dependencies there are some iAPS specific updates, like refactoring of glucose storage, backfill from Nighscout (up to 90 days), upload to Nighscout (up to 90 days), new developer options, bug fixes and translations and more.

• If building with Xcode you first need to clone iAPS and all of its submodules:
  git clone --recurse-submodules --branch=main https://github.com/artificial-pancreas/iaps.git && cd iaps && xed .

• CAVE! When installing new version 8.0.0 your old CGM selection will be reset, because of a new CGM setting. You therefore need to reselect your CGM source in CGM settings after installation.

• CGM setting ”Upload Readings” is off by default.

• iAPS no longer reads glucose from Apple Health.

Several quite major updates to iAPS in version 7.0.

NEW

• 1: A complete rewrite of JavaScript processing, by @thomasvargiu. Resulting in much quicker loops (around 2 to 5 seconds quicker!). Tested for over 4 months.
• 2: Asynchronous processing of file storage resulting in additional performance (speed) gains, by @thomasvargiu.
• 3: Instant IOB and COB updates with every loop or delivery or carb change. A long requested feature.
• 4: View Insulin Activity (not IOB) in Main Chart. New UI/UX-setting. By @yurique.
• 5: View COB in Main Chart. By @yurique. New UI/UX setting
• 6: New SAGE View and some other smaller Header View updates. Choose from Sensor Age and Time Remaining in UI/UX-settings.
