This repository is a shared workspace for bioregional knowledge commoning at multiple scales: reusable foundations, interoperable protocol guidance, and active pilots.
- Build practical, federated approaches to bioregional knowledge sharing.
- Support ontological commoning and knowledge sovereignty.
- Incubate pilots that can inform broader commons infrastructure.
BKC applies upstream coordination grammar and intelligence patterns to bioregional knowledge commoning:
- Spore — coordination grammar, federation protocol, claims/evidence/attestation patterns, learning membrane
- Intelligence Commons — retrieval and memory layer abstractions, grounding/evidence primitives, agentic control patterns
BKC is the primary proving ground where these patterns make contact with real operational commitments and generate genuine evaluation evidence. The boundary: Spore defines the grammar, IC defines the intelligence patterns, BKC applies both to bioregional knowledge sovereignty.
This repository uses a three-layer model:
- Pattern Language (human layer)
- Reusable social and governance patterns for commoning.
- Meta-Protocol (thin interoperability layer)
- Minimal machine commitments: what is shared, who attests, who can use/how.
- Reference Profiles (implementation layer)
- Optional concrete serializations such as CommonsChange.
