The installation process has been changed somewhat:

1. {cairoDevice} is now only installed as a source package and requires GTK that is on PATH in Windows.
2. The interactive GTK installation now stands overridden. Everything that has to do with it now occurs automatically.
3. Messaging on progress is now a little cleaner and errors are a bit easier to understand. The verbosity is currently set to FALSE by default.
