Goal
Enable users to instantly deploy complete, working workflows for common business use cases.
Problem
- Budibase is a complex platform and for new users it is difficult to get started.
- As you automate more workflows within your workspace, your list of workflow assets grow. It would be good to group these in the ui to make navigation easier.
- From a positioning perspective, templates help interested users understand what Budibase is for.
Solution
- Introduce a way to group assets into folders.
- Allow users to export folders as a template.
- Allow users to view pre-compiled folders (templates) and add to a workspace.
- Allow users to export a folder and send to Budibase to get added to the template library.
Naming
Above, I have used the term folders, but folders a little boring. Others call them projects, playbooks and workflows. For me, the term workflow is most fitting but it can be confused with automatons. I like the playfulness of Playbooks.
