I am an environmental microbiologist who spends a surprising amount of time thinking about bacteria, and the genes they secretly exchange. My research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, wastewater-based epidemiology, microbial genomics, and One Health surveillance. By combining long-read metagenomics, bioinformatics, and environmental monitoring, I try to understand how antibiotic-resistant pathogens move through urban wastewater systems—because even microbes have travel routes.
