Capture the manual/semi-automated tests run before tagging a release (beyond `cargo test` + CI): index/format guards, all quant modes (SA/sketch/single/ multi-lane/useEM/skipQuant), bias + FLD + mass-conservation (incl. the #1019 decoy-hang guard), output/aux surfaces, alignment-mode incl. messy-BAM and coordinate-sort handling, determinism/robustness edge cases, accuracy-vs-truth and parity-vs-C++, and the publish gates. Includes the datasets used and a "known gaps / candidates to add" section so the checklist can grow. Reusable pre-release test checklist (docs/release-testing-checklist.md) capturing the surface area we exercise before tagging: build/CI gates, index+format guards, all quant modes, bias/FLD/mass-conservation (incl. #1019 decoy-hang guard), output/aux, alignment-mode (messy-BAM + coordinate-sort), determinism/robustness, accuracy-vs-truth + parity-vs-C++, and publish gates — plus datasets and a known-gaps section.
