I believe the library could benefit from this PR, which proposes switching the current flags from
extern consttoconstexpr. It modernizes the code, streamlines compilation (eliminatingflag.cpp), and library users could benefit in various ways.For example, I have a use case where this change allows me to avoid having to implement two methods of a class.
