Release Notes
Tank Trap is having its first (public) release, now that it runs at 1080p at a full 60FPS on the Wii U!
Born in a game jam and originally intended as a tech demo alongside the then-new CafeGLSL shader compiler, Tank Trap has a fully destroyable terrain with plenty of items to facilitate that destruction.
As for gameplay, there's an online multiplayer mode where you can find a bunch of items to destroy one another while trying to not dig yourself an inescapable hole. You can also just enjoy playing it alone in the sandbox mode or mess around with spawning materials on the interactive title screen.
The gameplay isn't very balanced, nor is the game that fun to play for a longer period of time. But there's hopefully also something for other people to learn from, inside the codebase, considering it is a small-ish 2D game engine and there aren't that many other Wii U GX2 homebrew games out there (for now!).
We hope you give it a shot or learn something from it!
